Weird problem with sound system!

Just yesterday I was just listening to my music and then the bottom two front speakers the volume lowered. (The rear speakers are still normal) The speakers sounded like when the navi would prompt for a direction and the speakers on the bottom would "half-mute" so you could hear the navi voice. It was like the navi voice was still going on but no navi voice, it was stuck on the "half-mute" (or ATT) mode! Then all of sudden it went back to normal a couple hours later (very annoyed later). Then this morning it did it again! This is so annoying! It sounds like your ears a clogged! Any sugestions? Any other people with the same problem?

Update- Now it is cutting in and out. Going into the half-muted state on and off. I think there is a short somewhere... What do you guys think?

From all the posts that I've read here, and I've read probably too many, I've not heard of this particular problem. The above poster gave you the best advice on this issue - take it back to the dealer. Hopefully, they will pinpoint what caused the problem and have a replacement part in stock to fix it....if not, you'll want a few more weeks.

Please post back and let us know the outcome!

Try this...Perhaps the voice is on for the navi, but turned down so low that you cannot hear it. I had this problem on a demo that the dealer loaned me. After it did it several times I got to thinking so I went and TURNED OFF the navi voice. The voice was on the lowest setting, not off such that the volume that was still coming out of the rear speakers was enough to drown out the low volume of the navi voice.

I have tryed to lower the volume and turning off the navi voice completly. It sounds like there is a short in the sound system. I will be driving down the road and the speakers in the front will soften and get louder randomly.

Yep, sounds like you might have a problem. Wish it could have been an easy fix, but oh well. Go see your dealer...

New Update 8/4/2004: Took it to the dealer today and they called me earlier and said they did not know what is wrong with it. They are going to keep my car for another day and call Acura support line or something like that to see if they get it resolved.
