Weird problem with the clock time!!!

Not sure if any of you have experienced this problem which started a couple of weeks ago!

Every time I start the car the clock time is completely wrong ... this would last for 5-10 times and then the correct time is displayed !

I have Navi, not sure if the clock time is received from the GPS !!!

Called the dealer today and he's going to check with tech help

Just saw this myself this afternoon. Clock displayed 1:00; actual time was 4:10. It did correct itself as the navi started up. This is the first time I've noticed this, however, and I've had the car for 3-1/2 months.

To answer your other question, clock time is received from the GPS. Furthermore, it will adjust the clock as you change time zones.

Hope this helps...

I park my car underground where no GPS signal is recieved and this does not happen to me. So I would not think this is something wrong with GPS signal.

Maybe some electornics in car going bad?

Called the dealer and explained the problem.

After he called tech support he said that this is a known issue so he ordered a new clock module.

Went and changed the clock module at dealer today ... it's worst than before !!!

Now the clock seems to be worst than before ... It's a clock on steroid !!!

Before the problem was that when I start the car the clock time would be out of wack for about 5 to 10 minutes and then the correct time is displayed !

Well now the clock speed seems to be too fast meaning instead of displaying 10:30 I have 10:38 and then after a couple of hours the difference is even greater !!!!

Weird !!!!

Anyone experienced this problem ???

I have Navi so I think the clock is sinc'd with the GPS but the delaer is saying it's not the case !!!!

You're dealer is wrong, then. The manual says the clock is set off the GPS satellite time. I'm guessing your clock is not getting constant 12V when the car is off. Since they swapped the module, I'd be looking for a faulty wire leading to the module's connector.

Yes I did adjust the clock and it does the same thing.

It can't be the wiring as when I start the car the correct (precise) clock time is displayed for 2 second and then it's another completly out of wack time is displayed for aroung 5 minutes and finally the correct (precise) clock time is then displayed back again.

Now if I stop the car (and take ignition key) for less than 10-15 minutes the time continues to be OK. However, if I stop the car for more than 10-15 minutes then the same problem occurs !!!

What a weird problem !!!!

It's just a ''f'' simple clock ............

Anyone have any idea what's going on ?????

Do you have metallic tint on your windows? Maybe the signal is being corrupted/lost somehow.

The clock is set using the navi satellites so if the dealer has replaced the entire clock module and you're still having problems then it could possibly be the tint interferring.

But I had the tint since I purchased the car (over a year) and I never had any issues. It's recently that I started having this weird problem.

Could it be the GPS module need to be changed ???

Then I'd keep taking it back to the dealer until it's fixed.

Update on this weird problem that has finally been resolved !!!!

First a description of the problem: Every time I start the car, the time displayed on the clock would be equal to the one when I last used the car. For example, If come back at 5pm the next day at 9am when I start the cas I would get the time of 5pm displayed for around 5-10 minutes and then the correct time would come back correctly .... what a weird thing!!!

Anyways this is what the Acura dealer did to fix the problem:

First Visit - They changed the clock module ... did not fix the problem

Second Visit - They changed the new street database for the Navigation system which I don't why they that but I did not comlpaint cause I got it for free (saved $350) ... obviously did not fix the problem

Third visit - They changed the Navi system to finaly resolve the issue ... they told that the price of the Navi was $4500 ... thank god it was covered under warranty !!!

They told me that it was the first time that Acura had saw this problem.

Hope no one has to go through this ...
