V710 tested in a TL

According to a post on Howard Forums, someone has now tried one of the pre-release V710s in a TL, and apparently it worked pretty well. The poster (who does not own a TL) said that the pairing worked easily, and that the sound quality was good, etc., etc. But he also said that the signal strength meter and caller ID did not appear on the TL's display. I recall reading here that this was an issue with some other bluetooth phones, but I was hoping that the v710 would work flawlessly with the TL. Oh well. At least the basics seem to work.

Now if Verizon would just release the damn thing...

I've given up waiting.

I'm now planning on replacing a SonyEricsson T616 with a SprintPCS- or T-Mobile based Treo "Ace" and telling VZW to pound salt if the signal quality is "good enough."

[ANGRY OPINION ON]
I might add that all Motorolas I've owned (including two StarTacs, one Microtac, two TimePorts, and four T720 (three replacing broken ones) have all ended up broken in the garbage. Motorola and their assenine Six Sigma-compliant lazy moronic company can go rot in hell for all I care.
[ANGRY OPINION OFF]

I don't remember his name, but the thread is easy to find, and there are not too many messages in the thread. The title of the thread was something like "V710 in Acura TL".

Good luck!

My StarTAC 7868 is the most reliable phone I've ever owned. I will only give up this 4-year-old phone for the V710. It is possibly the best phone Moto has ever made. Otherwise, I agree with you--V60 in particular sucks.

Ideally, Verizon would pick up the Treo Ace--PDA, phone, Bluetooth, extra storage.....I'd be in gadget heaven. But knowing Verizon, it'll be 2008 before we get that.

That is very disappointing, I read that the Nokia 6820 has the same problems with the caller ID and Signal Strength.

I tested a Sony in my TL and it worked great. Makes me want to switch to ATT/Cingular once my contract is up in November.

Paying $400+ for a phone that all the bluetooth functionality is not working is disappointing if not frustrating. All verizon customers have been waiting for this phone for atleast a year. I don't understand Motorola..they spend years designing and months marketing and the phone does not properly work in the "only" car that comes standard with a built-in Bluetooth handsfree kit.

Once the att/cigular merger is done the service will probably be just as good or better then verizon anyway. I am through waiting for this v710!!!!!
