I had(have) a V-600 and finally gave up too. I had the dropped call issue, and even cutting out while making a call...it wouldn't drop the call..but the voice would cutout and drove me crazy. Unless I had almost 4-5 bars of signal strength, and phone was unreliable. I purchased a Razr last week, and it's fantastic. Before with either the V-600 or a SE610, I couldn't make calls from the basement of my Mom's house. The Razr works perfectly anywhere in the basement, and has none of the cutout or dropped call issues of the V-600. I don't know how it can work so well, considering it's got an internal antenna, but it does. The phone is very expensive, but worth every penny IMHO....for styling, reception, and build quality. It's something you have to hold to appreciate...the construction is like a Rolex watch....perfectly finished case, smooth edges, and just plain fine workmanship. The parts fit together like nothing I've ever seen in a cellphone before. No plastic, even the window on the cover is glass. It pairs perfectly with my TL, but like all Motorola phones, doesn't display battery strength...not really an issue, since I keep it on the charger in the car anyway.
I had the same problem with my V600. I found that if you leave the clamshell closed when trying to recieve calls with the handsfreelink, it would usually send the calls to the handset itself. When I started to leave the clamshell open, It works properly 95% of the time.

What software version are you using?
You can hit *#9999# and it brings up the software version for the phone.
Its the information that says TRIPLETS.
I had started out with 9.3AR.
It sucked. It dropped alot of calls. And the battery meter was all wacked out.
Since then, I have flashed 9.4AR and it works like a charm. No more dropped calls and the battery meter seems to be working correctly. However the battery life does not show on the HFL.
Check Howardforums on how to flash your phone. Or ask me, I can help.
Hope this helps.
