V1 installed too high?

Well, I'm having a hard time finding a good spot for my V1 and was just wondering if anyone thinks if I have it too high in the following picture. Also, will there be any interference with getting any detection, i've been getting false K-Band around my area but havent bumped into any KA or L readings yet so i dont know x_X

I placed it right under the tint strip so it doesn't interfere with any Laser readings.

I have mine much like yours in the tint strip. It was around the same area in my BMW when I drove it. I have had no issues with it working so far. Been spot on for me!

i also have mines installed at the top IN the as1 line. people say the as1 line will interfere with the front receiver, but my front receiver is completely behind the as1 line and i've picked up laser and ka bands with it before. and also picks up the usual k and x bands too.

the reason i have it up so high is because i don't want it visible from the outside. i tried placing my v1 to where the front receiver is just below the as1 line, but when i stood outside my car and looked at it, you can see the v1. so i moved it back up, but never had a problem with it since.

Make sure the rear-facing antenna (located to the right of the arrows) has a clear view out the back of the car, including when your head is there. The OP's looks to me like it doesn't have a clear view.

(The rear antenna isn't just hype. Some years back I was going south on I-59 in Georgia at right about the speed limit and got hit with a quick burst of radar from behind. Set the cruise control at 68 and a few minutes later it happened again, then again....soon I spotted the unmarked car in my rearview. He tailed me all the way to the Alabama line before he turned around. I guess he saw the Virginia plate and thought he could nail me, but damn, don't you think if someone sets the cruise control at 68 in a 70 zone after you tag him with radar he probably knows you're there?)

That's exactly where I have mine.

My suggestion is to move it back up to where you had it behind the tint strip. That is where I have mine located. My first reason is that you are keeping your V1 away from the prying eyes of thieves. It is a heck of a lot harder to see the V1 when it is behind the tint strip than when it is below when taking a quick glance as you walk by the car. Second reason, even with a V1, laser detection is useless. You need a jammer. I own a laser gun, have shot every laser gun on the market, and test jammers regularly and can tell you first hand, you cannot out-brake laser using only a radar detector.

Thanks for the input guys, i moved it down a little so the radar has a better view of the back. And yes the only reason I want it this high is to keep people from seeing it outside. Thanks for the advice! Had a friend that got his car broken into because it was out in the open
