Use of Navi Touchscreen?
Hello all, I've been searching far and wide for any threads and posts on the subject and I'm coming up short.
I'm trying to figure out if a box exists that connects to the existing NAV System that allows the screen to be used as a normal touchscreen. I'd love to be able to connect my new iPhone 6S and navigate from the large screen in the dash. Any ideas???

I'll bite- what's the difference?
I think what OP wants is to connect his phone to a cable, through some kind of device that eventually connects to the oem navi screen. Then whatever shows up on his phone screen gets transmitted to the navi screen. He wants his iPhone navi just to show up on the oem screen, but also be able to move around, enter stuff, etc, using the oem nav screen.
I don't think anything like that exists. If it did, people would be all over it. I think this is what the new Accord (amongst others) has- the carplay function.
Or am I on drugs?

I think it's due to hardware limitation. Even if there was a module out there that would allow the touchscreen to communicate with the iPhone, it'd be useless.
Smartphones heavily rely on capacitive touch so you can scroll, multitouch, etc.
You won't be able to scroll on the navi screen since it's resistive touch.
Now if you have a jailbroken phone or android phone and mirrored the display onto the navscreen, you could probably add a touchpad in the cupholder area and use it to control what's on the screen.

I had to do some engineering and connect the output from the touchscreen to a USB converter that hooked up to a computer in the trunk. Video was put into the navi via a navtool/tvandnav2go module. I used some touchscreen software to control the windows mouse with the factory touchscreen and was done!
The screen quality wasn't the best due to the low resolution of the factory screen.
One issue I forsee is getting the video out from your iphone and allowing another device to control it at the same time.
