hey guys i have a 2007 acura tl type s. ive been seeing this alot but am unsure of what it is. basically i want to be able to integrate my ipod through the screen instead of having to pick it up and navigate for my songs. and id like to be able to display the dvd player through the screen and maybe hook a ps3 to it. what all will i need to do?

first. the technology wont be there for the ps3.
as you'll need a 1080p screen.

2nd. read this post http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/show...32&postcount=3

You don't "need" a 1080p screen for the ps3. It would work just fine with the composite cables that come with the ps3. It outputs 480i over the composite just like a dvd player would.

You'll need an ipod adaper like the Isimple, PX-AMG ipod adapter or the new USASPEC one. They allow text display and you can navigate it though the navi system.

As far as a PS3, playing a game on it will SUCK because of the lag from the navi-converter among other things. If you want to put in a dvd-player, you'll just need a video adapter like NAVTOOL or Dom's TVANDNAV2Go

Is the lag noticeable on a DVD? Just wondering because the audio and video are going through two totally different devices.

Yes, I have the TVANDNAV2Go from Dom and the USA-Spec.

For giggles I hooked up a PS2 and and my old copy of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 from 2002 and there was a slight bit of lag while driving on a track. It's hard to say what the exact lag was but it's def. not good if you are going to try play halo or get the best lap times possible, but it's manageable.

As far as lag B/W video and sound, both come in perfectly!

The video/audio sync was what i was worried about, Thanks for letting me know thats not an issue. You probably had issues with refresh rate, i can not imagine that it is very fast on the nav screen.

Yeah i see what you mean, If you did some high quality headrest monitors as well it would probably be ok. If there was a nice spot to put it it would work pretty well as a media solution too. Would not be my choice however because of the size.
