tl-s navi shoots

Ok guys and girls I'm trying my best to give you somr pic's of the new ride but my camrea is not 100% and right now my time is limited. But none the less I got some pic's for you guys to look at.

As you know I picked up an 07 tl-s and is lovin the car . I think $38,700 i paid for it was well worth it even though alot of you on this board don't think so.
$2000 over the normal tl and you get noise cancelation, bigger engine, backup camera, stiffer suspension, better leathers, auto lights, smoother ride (still don't understand why) and other things i can't think of right now.

But the navi for one is a big plus. I found that the old navi took very long sometimes to get the ok button but now the ok button comes on right away. The compass that really never worked on the screen for me now does. Any place you point the car the compass follows north in real time. You can now speak the addresses instead of typing and because of the noise cancel option, when you are driving it hears what you are saying better.

Here are some photo's of the screens and tomorrow i will add more once i can get a working camera. One thing that is great also is that there are more colors to choose from for the menu and the pic's on the navi have more detail and not the flat boring color that the old one had. Maybr the new update with fix that.

I will try to keep pic's coming but with this camera and pressing for time, just bare with me

Is that just the navigation disk? Is possible to get it for the 06 TL?

That's what I wanna know... Or is it a screen with better resolution? I am hoping it's the disk that can make our 06's look like that

I'm thinking that if the OK button pops up quicker it's because the processor in the Navi system is faster and the hardware has changed. If that's the case, a new Navi disk wouldn't give us any new features. As it is, the Navi disk released this month includes no improvements to the system. I'd say it's not in Acura's best interest to update the disk as they'd rather people just go out and buy a 2007...

You're right. There was quite a discussion here why the '06 Accord got the updated navi while the '06 TL was stuck with the outdated 3rd-gen navi.

Hey kobi, which screen protector do you use ? If I get the TL with navi, should I get one too ?

It looks so much better.

So what is it though? Is the resolution the same or is it a new screen?

Nice screen shots thanks for sharing. I like the new layout of the audio control options. Congrats on the purchase and hell, enjoy it as I'm sure you are.

hey kobi, so after the incident report screen pops up, does it re-route your path around the incident? or is there just an icon that flags the incident and it's location? thanks man!

I would guess that's where the brains of the Navi are located. I could imagine having to change the head unit.

Try it and let us know.

This has been discussed to death...
NO, a new disk will not give you these options.

Given the interdependencies of the HFL, Nav, and XM... To upgrade will probably require a new NAV drive, XM receiver, and HFL unit... and possibly the radio and screen. I ahven't seen the PN's to verify any parts that were held over from 2006, but odds are ONLY the screen caried over.

That's almost $3K worht of hardware. That's trade in value there.

For some people thats less than trade in, plus if you have other mods on your car... I would rather have my 06 with the features as I dont like some of the changes, like the LEDS being red... I like my blue...

What will be nice though is if we can get just the Navi Rom brain unit and a new XM unit and not have to do anything else and it work... I just worry maybe the wires running to the head unit are diffrent. I dont really care for the MP3 featur in the new head unit and if could keep my old one would be great... HFL dont matter much to me neither... We shall have to wait and see..

they are not LED's, they are just regular bulbs with different covers

I think he's talking about the red cluster, courtesy light, and dash illumination... all of which is LED based.

..
The red LED's are really disappointing. Blue is so much better! Seats are great, power better etc, but I don't think I could get over those reds.

I have to agree about the red. I just picked up my 07-navi (black on black) and the extra 2k was not a big deal to get the trunk lip, nicer seats, wicked tires, etc. I just REALLY like the blue. I've never been a fan of the red on any car (and I've rented enough Pontiacs from Avis to realize that).

I think the real problem with red is not the instrument cluster (mainly red rings instead of blue around each) is all the buttons being back-lit red. White is so much easier to read, for me.

Enjoy the ride, I almost got one, but I'm just stuck with the teensy weensy 3.2, LOL!

Anybody know what "Connect to the Acura Server" does? Does that deliver software updates? And what's the connection - HFL through your cell signal, something coming down from the XM satellites?

it's $2500 more for the nav than the standard TL on an 07. It used to be $2000 but they added the backup camera. The TypeS ads another $2000 over the nav version.
