My TL won't recognize my Alltel Moto E815

Can anyone help? I just changed to Alltel and I am using a Motorola E815. I have tried to "pair" this phone with HFL but my TL will not recognize my phone. I have searched this forum and have followed the instructions step by step. I have even tried my wife's phone which is also a E815 with no success. Before this I had a Motorola V600 with no problems. Any one have any ideas?

I'm no HLF expert, but I don't think your network carrier has any impact at all on pairing and setup. Are you sure you are following the directions to the letter?

I have an E815, and had no issues at all with setup. I was a sad bear to learn that you can't import the phone book with our model, but that isn't where you are stuck at.

I have followed the instructions exactly as listed in my manuals both for the phone and the TL. I use HFL and go to"phone setup" then "pair" then vocally say a four digit code which then appears on the dash display. I then put my phone into discovery and wait. What happens is the HFL finally times out with out recognizing my phone.
I was able to import my old phone numbers from my old phone (Moto V600), to my new phone using Motorola's "Phone Tools" software program. I uses my Outlook Email program on my laptop computer with a USB cable to download my numbers.

I have had numerous E815 phones (don't ask) and have successfully paired every one of them with my car without issue.

Double-check the phone to be sure that the Bluetooth is "on". Do this before you go anywhere near your car. Power the PHONE (not the bluetooth) off.

To pair, get in your car and start it (you could just flip it to ON/ACC, but why run down the battery or take a chance).

Go into HFL setup, and list the devices that are currently paired. Delete any that you find. If you have to delete any, turn the car off and walk away. Don't come back for AT LEAST a full minute. Back in the car, don't start it up yet.

Power on the phone. Make sure the BT is powered on.

Settings, Connections, Bluetooth Link, Setup. Make sure "Power" is "on".
Back.
Device History. Delete any devices in the list (if you have a headset or something, re-pair it later). If you delete any devices, power the phone off and restart these steps.
Back.
Handsfree.

Start the car.

Hit the "Talk" button and say "Phone setup". Choose Pair. Enter code. Hit button to search for phones.

On phone: [Look for devices]

Phone will find HandsfreeLink TM. Select it from the menu when the phone is done. Choose to connect.

You should be asked for the PIN. Enter it.

Car will say that a phone was found and prompt you to name it.

I think that about covers it.
