In addition to what Will Y. said, the other method is not to hit "OK" at the nag screen. The screen will go blank after a time. Only thing is, if you do this you lose the voice commands for the radio and the climate control. When I took my TL to Nova Scotia (beyond the eastern end of the Navi coverage) I initially tried just letting it go blank at the nag screen but quickly realized that I preferred to turn off the screen so that I could tune the XM, or change the CD or tape, via voice-command.

The voice commands will still work with the Navi off-- just tap the Navi voice control button twice the first time you use the voice control. You only need to tap the voice control button once (as with Navi on) thereafter to use voice control.
I usually drive with the Navi off, but sometimes adjust the temp and turn the radio off via voice control.

Man, you STILL learn things here even after six years. I had never heard of this. I am going to have to try this one of these days. I'm going to drive my other car today so I can put the top down, so maybe next week if I remember.

Would have been nice to know this about the voice commands on that trip to Nova Scotia. It's distracting to have the Navi screen stuck on the nag screen or stuck on the last XM song that played (i.e., if you're outside the Navi's coverage and you display the audio screen, when you turn off the radio the audio screen will remain as it was when you turned off the radio), so I was turning the display on and off. I suppose I'd still do that if I wanted to find out the name of a song or if I wanted to find a ballgame. Guess it doesn't matter much, though, since I normally like having the Navi display turned on—with DC-area traffic, it's nice to be able to look at the map to figure out a bail-out route when the traffic comes to a halt!
