Tapping into XM for Bluetooth

So I see an article about taping into the xm source for a aux input. I'd like to do the same, but for one of those cheap $20 Bluetooth adapter so I can play music over Bluetooth.

Has anyone else done this? Diagrams? Write ups??? Thanks.

I believe its impossible.
Some one correct me if i'm wrong.

the blue tooth adapter would have to have a harness that connects to the back of the radio. this is how we have access to the xm/aux button.

you're looking at a custom job here, unless a company has already done it for you .

Lots of folks have done this (including me). Use an iSimple adapter to replace the XM channel, and then buy a Blackberry Gateway to hook into the iSimple. When you come in the car, your phone will automatically sync to the Gateway, which will feed the music to the iSimple. Streaming music is a big crowd pleaser....makes my 2005 TL feel like a 2012 model!

Why would this be impossible?

I'm looking for something simpler and cheaper ;-)

Step 1: See https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/acura-tl-2004-aux-input-solutions-250154/ This talk about tapping into the XM line in the trunk somehow. Now very detailed or clear. Out come of this is an AUX in. Does anyone have clear instructions on this step?

Step 2: Purchase a cheap bluetooth receive with AUX out and connect to input from Step 1 (http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-xtre...ess-receiver-3)

Play music!

Yes? No? Maybe????

Thanks!

iSimple Connect

I installed the iSimple ISHD651 this past weekend and used this thread as a guide. It's a plug and play install. Hardest part is getting the XM wire harness out and the new one in.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...hlight=isimple

I purchased it from ipodcarpros.com for $140. It comes with bluetooth streaming, line-in jack, USB and hands-free mic. It is a very straight forward install and taking off the panels insures that it looks factory. The only two things I did different was to put the inline jack in one of the small compartments above shifter (with BT not sure it will be used) and placed the actual unit to be more accessible and to keep heat away from it. The air ducts move through the center console and there is plenty of room to tie it above the accelerator. I like the phone set up better than the factory because it uses siri to make calls and there is less button navigation to make a call. The only problem that I had which was frustrating was there were no operational instructions for the unit and I had to get those off of the PAC site, not iSimple.

http://www.pac-audio.com/PACProductD...etooth_QRC.pdf

I'm so glad I purchased this because the bluetooth streaming is such a nice feature and my factory hands-free died a year ago.

Take care.

I just went with the simplest route and bought a Kinivo bluetooth adapater that plugs into the Aux input in my center console. As long as you pair it to your phone once, it'll automatically connect as soon as you turn your car back on. It has great range and was only about $40.

If you have a 2007-2008, I believe you can just use the blackberry gateway in the AUX port located in your armrest console. If you have a 2004-2006, I believe it's either Bluetooth or XM.

Yes, it is true that you can stream music (e.g. Pandora) using the blackberry gateway plugged into in the AUX port located in your armrest console. The blackberry gateway needs power. I plugged it into a cell phone car charger with a usb port and plugged the charger into the AUX port. Once synced you can stream music without losing XM. Works great for me.

I have a 2005 tl and tapped into the xm for my aux input and bluetooth. I followed a write up somewhere on the forum but this is basically what I did:
Tapped into the wires for the xm and connected the corresponding wires to an rca wire
Then ran an aux wire and ground loop isolater (to remove some of the static) to my glovebox
And finally in my glovebox I have a kinivo bluetooth adapter which allows me to have bluetooth audio

This does render my xm radio unusuable for the time being, but it is always possible to hook it back up. If you search the topic you should be able to find a more detailed diagram of that process and a way to wire a switch which allows for the switching of the xm and aux input
