sub problem

so i just wired and installed my jl 10w7 with a 500/1 jl amp. started out perfect then out of no where when i was driving the sub would be hitting without music playing... i tried turning the sub off and same problem, tried turning the audio off, same problem. im stuck lol

edit: the LOC i used has a "remote" slot built in so i put the remote to that

Sounds like the"ANC" auto noise cancellation issue. It would help to know what year & type. The type-s have ANC, not sure about the regular models.

one must be more specific when you are saying that your subs are hitting...hum...pop...flapping...what LOC are you running and where did you pull the signal from for the LOC?

Did you disconnect BOTH the front & rear ANC mics. The ANC is an automatic feature it cannot be turned on and off. Even if the audio system is powered off, the ANC is generating negative sound waves to "quiet the cabin". If you've disconnected both mics then the issue is probably in your LOC / AMP wiring.

its not affected by the front mic....to my knowledge the 2 mics monitor diff aspects of the system and since the subs in the rear... the rear has to be disconnected. when u and if u add an loc for an amp for the speakers then its time to disconnect the front mic.

Now try the front mic. There is an excellent write up on this (finding it may be difficult). Search for ANC. (I'd try to find more, but my left arm in a full cast so I'm not to proficient). In total the rear took 15 - 20 minutes the front about 30.
