This sub any good?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Alpine-Type-R-12-SWR-1221D-Sub-HI-TECH-BOX-ENCLOSURE_W0QQitemZ5845402392QQ I saw this on ebay and was wondering if it is any good and worth the price? How do you think it would sound and would it be easy to replace a blown sub with this enclosure?

Box is gonna sound crappy and distorted because it is a bandpass box and the port is cylindrical. Just my .

Alpine has a good reputation, but I tend to run from any product named "Type R"
The box is crappy-not only for reasons tfe691 mentioned, but beacuse thin plastic is not a good choice for a sub enclosure.

Type r's are great subs, they have a lot of punch and can handle a good amount of power. I agree though, see if you can buy a type r sub itself and find yourself a better box

Thanks for the advise guys. I just thought it would save alot of space, but wouldn't be worth it if it sounds crappy.

You can't go wrong w/ alpine. Box can be a different story.

I have a pair of Type R 12's DVC and they pound really loud and hard.

These subs don't need a big box for sealed enclosure but I would not trust the one in ebay.
