Stock sub wires to line out converter?

I have been searching around but I get so many mixed options. I am wanting to know if I can use the stock sub wires and hook them into a loc? Would I be able to use this and control the sub from the radio just like the stock woofer?

There are many threads that both talk about and show pictures on how to do this. There's a full DiY too I believe.

Anyway, you would just unplug the exiting sub and wire in the LoC into the wires directly. From there, you RCA to the amp. You don't wire your sub to the LoC.

If your amp has SLIs then you don't even need the LoC.

You may not need a LOC if your amp has high level inputs, my Alpine works without it. If it's a mono amp it doesn't matter if you do left/right or wire it to both. I just cut the stock connector from the sub, extended the wires a bit, and right to the amp. The stock radio controls it fine.
