One of the best sounding audio systems.....for an OEM. Better can be done if you go aftermarket.

It all depend on your personal taste.

Stereo are so personal, you should visit your local Acura dealer with your favorite CD and try it out.

I personally find the stereo system quite good, well balanced with a nice reproduction and to get better, I am not willing to spend over $3,000 and modify the heck out of the car to obtain that result.

I used to have systems in my cars costing over $5,000 before and the gain of investing such money would be marginal at best. The only major thing I would obtain is a louder system but not necessarily a better sounding system to my ear.

Best regards from Montreal

I think the new Acura system sounds great, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea. If you like deep thumping bass and ear splitting volume you aren't going to like this system.

I think it sounds great. I just don't think there is enough 'volume' for me. I am upgrading my system.

When it comes to clarity and quality it is terrific.

I agree. thought it was great when I first heard it but now that I have the car i am a bit diasppointed. I don't think it as clear and crisp sounding as I would like, think it is missing some midrange and it definatly does not go loud enough. I ahve never had a stereo where I was able to max out the volume. With the windows open on the expressway I feel like I need more volume.

It sounds great with DVD-A. As some say, it lacked volume, but adding a sub fills in the low end that is missing, and really has satisfied my need for volume now!!! Those who are looking for more volume, try just adding a sub first, you'll be surprised at how much it adds to the system. I wouldn't trade the head unit, as you'd have to spend well over 5 grand to get everything it gives you. Best OEM I've heard period. Make sure you listen to DVD-A that comes with the TL....it will make you smile.

I agree, it sounds very clear and great.

I think the 5 grand assumption is a little over the top though.

I am first and foremost an audiophile. I own Krell equipment in my home. The Audio system in the 05 TL is very good IMO, especially with higher resolution DVD-A. I do enjoy my music at home at live levels. The TL with the windows up, I find the volume to be adequate. With the wondows down it can be a challange if you are trying to hear every detail of the music. I find absolutuley no problem with bass. If there is lots of bass in your source, then the TL system reproduces the bass very accurate. Depending where I have the bass controls setup, there can be too much bass for me. I don't understand how anyone can add a sub to this system and feel it is more acurate. I guess some people like to make there own bass, and not what the artist intended. Having said all that, I find no need to put an aftermarket system in the TL. It just sounds good, period.

I may have gone over the top, but find me a system with built in DVD-A & DTS, with built in surround sound decoding, XM, 6 disc changer, cassette, at lower than 3 grand. I don't even think they make such an animal with the cassette being the odd thing that sets it apart. The Kenwood Excelon XXV-05V comes close, but without the 6 discs and cassette, and you still have to add on the XM accessories. Anyway, point is.....there is a lot of technology for an OEM system.
