stereo help

I'm hoping someone on here can help me. I have an 05 TL with navi. I love the car and the stereo, except it isn't loud enough. I don't want to buy a new stereo as I love the set-up of the stock system. But is there anything out there that can boost the volume level?
Back in the 80's I know they used to sell something called a booster. It was like a small amp, you hooked it up to your stereo and it boosted the volume. Is there anything like that made today? Or is there any other way I can just make this thing sound louder?
Thanks in advance for anyone that can offer any advice to this.

stretch,
I'm a bit of an audiophile, and I too felt like I was missing some volume as well. Especially some DTS disks like Steve Miller Bands disc. I wanted to add an amp and drive all the speakers to increase it. Howver, I added my 12" sub first, and now, I am very very happy with the volume. It is interesting how when you fill in the missing notes from 30 hz and lower, it really give you a fuller, louder sound. Try that first, then see if you need more.
