i neeeed a good stereo in my car. it is actually a large part in what i consider. i am 23 and i do NOT listen to heavy Rap Crap or anything, but i love and need good clean crisp music. i am more into the Dave Matthews Band, but i love to hear every instrument when listening. i have rea dnothing but good reviews on this system, but no real reviews--meaning no real people--it has all been magazine reviews, i want owners reviews
i have BOSE in my 97 maxima now and i love it! it has been perfect so far, but i love the TL more and more everyday....and what i am hearing about this DVD-A system sounds good to me so far
thanks guys! i enjoys reading yall stuff

the ELS system on the TL is a pretty damn good system. the highs are crisp, the lows are there but not very overpowering ... and the best part? ... GOBS OF MIDRANGE! -- which in my opinion is somewhat lost in other car audio systems out there. if youre a real audio buff, you would know that its not how loud the system is, but how it is able to sonically reproduce a recording the way the artist meant for you to hear it.
i love the 5.1 DVD-A format!! DVD-As in my car right now include the Eagles, Michael McDonald, and of course the demo CD from Acura. they have great separation between channels and i give much props to the tuning that ELS has done on this Panasonic system.
to be fair, i also have a Bose equipped vehicle (check out my sig) and in my humble opinion, Bose is just to punchy and no matter how i lower the bass level, it just seems to be right smack in the middle of everything! ... if you like the Bose system, you will love the ELS on the TL. hope this helps!

My only complaint about the system is the volume level. If you like listening to music loud while driving down the highway with the sunroof or window open you may be somewhat disappointed. With the windows up the volume level is not a problem.
As far as the DVD-A sound quality in the TL, it is WONDERFUL. A perfect mix of Highs, Mids and Lows.
One problem with DVD-A though is it really is not catching on as I wish it would. There are some great DVD-As but the selection is small and doesn't seem to be growing very fast.

Yeah, the volume in the TL is kind of weird. I've had times when I turn it to 25, and it's not even that loud. A few XM station can't be played at any loud volume. I know 25 sounds very high, since I usually listen at 10-16. But seriously, for some stations, even at 25 it's not as booming or loud as you think it would be. But overall the ELS is awesome, and I LOVE the 5.1 separation. Go to an Acura dealer, and have them play the demo disc, especially track 10 and 21, simply awesome sound that you'll not find in many cars.

Heres what i thought after a few weeks after i bought the car. http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showt...ht=pc+speakers Btw i had Bose in the max too.
im sorry to be so ignorant, but does this mean you can put a music DVD in the cd player and it work? like i could use Dave Matthews Band live from Central Park (and it comes in 5.1) and put in the cd player and it would play the audio?
Minarets, you cannot play the 5.1 audio track direct from the DVD Video but you can extract the 5.1 mix and burn it onto a DVD for playing in the Acura (there are instructions on how to do this in the forum here). I have done this many times with my concert DVDs and the Dave Matthew's Central Park is my next project!!!
Should sound awesome in the Acura...

Jerky - it's possible that your Eagles disk didn't mix for the center channel (Not familiar with that disk). Does the center channel respond for other disks or other inputs (FM, CD, etc.)?
