I don't have any problems with the LG LX350, unless i try to rapidly dial a new number too quickly after i disconnect from an call. You also must not have any windows or errors open on the 350 or the bluetooth won't properly accept the phone number.

The latest firmware for the phone is V12, but V13 is scheduled out shortly (from what i have read). To upgrade your firmware on the phone, I believe you have to update your vision profile first (Settings:PCS Vision (3): Update Profile (3)), then use the software update (Settings: Setup/Others (0): Update Phone SW (9))

Anyone know when the phone is linked up if u get a voicemail or text, does the envelope show on the display, like when it shows a service bulletin is due. it shows an envelope with a number referring to the amount of messages u have in envelope.

I had someone text message me and there was no sign of the incoming message or icon on display once the phone received the message.

LG LX550 Works

Hi. Just picked up a new Sprint LG LX550 (Fusic) today to go with the new TL. I get no battery or signal strength indication, but everything else works great. I also have to say, this is the best (clear, strong signal) phone I've had from Sprint in the nearly 10 years I've been with them.

Looking for a 2nd or bounce on the LG Fusic

Sjyokel,

Would you post a follow up after you've spent more time making calls with the LG Fusic? I'd like to get one over the A920, but I don't want to choke down the $$ if it's quirky. Are you still getting good HFL reception without issues making/receiving calls? Any quirks to note?

Thanks!

I received a new A920 last week, and so far it seems to work fine. When I paried and tried to make a call for a first time, the phone rebooted, but afterwards I had no issues. I foung one operational difference with LG325- when I dial using A920 keypad, the sound still vomes from HFL, unlike 325, where it stayed with the phone.

Sprint Treo 650

My Treo 650 works great. No matter where I place it in the car it's signal is great and sound is great. Although no battery indicator, signal strength indicator is nice to have.

Fusic Update

After a weekend of about 15 calls, both in and out, I'll again say I'm very impressed with the phone. It gets excellent reception whether in my shirt pocket or in the center console. I do not get a name to display on the incoming calls, but do get the phone number displayed. I really went back and forth with this and the A920, but feel confident in my choice so far. I'll update this in a couple of weeks after I get some more use from the phone.

Sorry to burst your "techie-centric" bubble, but the display only shows signal strength and the phone number calling - if you have it stored in the TL system. VW and Lexus are coming out with an indicator display for VMail and Text messages, but you will not be able to read them or respond on the car itself, but only from the phone itself. That's all we need is people emailing and TM'ing while driving!

Fusic Update 2

We're still very happy with the FUSIC. The only glitch I've experienced was a short period where the incoming calls were difficult to pick up. The TL would mute the music long enough to say "Hello" and then it turned up again. I re-paired the phone and it's worked perfectly since (about a week). I'm not sure what that was about, but we're still very impressed with the reception and the interface.

I just got FUSIC - very happy with the phone - great MP3 player - can broadcast MP3s to car radio - - - quality is so so, but still very cool to be able to do. Looks like an iPod and has similar functionality - needs a bigger Micro-SD card - but once I get that - no issues. Also, very good battery life in comparison to Samsung - I was with A900 and ditched it - now I'm paired with TL, and can listen to Mp3s while working out.

I am interested in getting a new Sprint phone this week:

I have narrowed it down to the KATANA, FUSIC and A920.

From the thread I see that all 3 at least make the basic bluetooth functionality (send/rcv, caller id), like my current PM325. I have never had signal/battery meter. Is it something that is worth it to have?

Currently I like the FUSIC for the feature set, but supposedly the KATANA is fully supported for HFL. Am I getting any more bang for my buck with HFL by going KATANA?

Also, anyone know a good Mac resource for pairing with a Mac?

Thanks!

How come the handsfreelink website says that the fusic is totally incompatible with the fusic? It makes me nervous.

Does the fusic allow you to...

-automatically recognize phone when you get in car
-use the voice activated "transfer" function
-place and end call with steering wheel buttons

thanks

got two coming in the mail this week. time for my old sony/ericksonn t608 to go. i'll miss it, worked great with TL

Sprint website now list the RAZR V3m as one of their phones.....I'm thinking about getting this phone for my wife (replacement/upgrade) for her next phone. Has anyone got one yet from Sprint and tried the bluetooth functionality?

I went from the PM325 to the Katana... Love the Katana. It had signal strength and battery in the MID. The advantage of battery is negligible for me since I have a car charger... however, the signal strength is a nice feature b/c there are dead spots that I always drive through in the city and it's nice to give my phone call recipient a head's up that I'm losing signal.

The katana automatically switched to BT when i'm just getting in the car and using the Katana's earpiece for listening.. very cool feature (LG phone did NOT have this). Also, the KAtana auto-levels the audio stream to the Acura ... the LG forced you to lower the earpiece volume to the very minimal setting in order not to have too much reverberation when hearing your recipient on the TL's speakers.

My LG to Katana switch was all positive... best of luck.

Consider the Katana when looking at the Razr.... the Razr doesn't have call waiting functionality, the Katana does. I picked up a razr and played with it a little, then did the same with the Katana .. I feel that the Katana is more solid... the screen is definitely more clear and crisp. However, the Razr has more of the techy features as far as sprint TV, music, etc.

My wife has the Katana, and it's a great phone. The big thing that puts the Katana behind the RAZR or even the Samsung A900 is the lack of the EV-DO data. If you don't do heavy data, then the Katana is the way to go. The multimedia features are also lacking in the Katana like Peter mentioned.

Katana

I jsut got the Katana and it works perfectly. Paired the first time, car recognizes it everytime I get in. transfers calls back and forth with no problem. Also get number and name on incoming calls. Signal strength, battery strength also show on MIDI.
