Sprint BlueTooth Phone Dec 2004
Sprint BlueTooth Phone Dec 2004
Does anyone have information about the sprint phone that is supposed to be released this week?
1: what is phone's model
2: Is this phone a good match for the 3rd gen tl (are there any known issues
3: does this phone have the features and specs that are industry standard? Is it missing any key features that I may want? Are there better phones out there?
4: What is cost?
4: any other recomendations
(im tied to sprint for the time being, switching providers will be a pain in the ass)

Jerky,
No one knows if there are any issues with the phone as this will be Sprint's first shot at Bluetooth. I have a friend that works for Sprint and he said it is well built and has most of the technology. He said it will work fine with my car as well. It is supposed to be like 79 dollars with new activation and 199 with current Sprint uses. If you have had your phone for 18 months, call Sprint direct and they will give you the 79 deal. Hope this helps.

Jerky,
It's an LG PM-325. This is Sprint's second phone with integrated bluetooth. The first is the Sony Ericisson T608. There have also been palm phones which could support bluetooth via plug-in cards.
No one has direct experience with the LG PM-325 as it has not been released. The bluetooth qualification report shows that the phone does supprt HFL so it should work with the TL.
Cost is $249. There may be some deals when it first comes out that will allow you to get it for $99 if you've had your current phone for 18 months and re-up for two more years.
The phone does not support OBEX so you won't be able to sync or transfer files with a computer or other bluetooth device.
Look at sprintpcsinfo.com or sprintuser.com forums for more info on this phone.

Let's just say the phone comes out tomorrow (stay with me) and I run out and buy it. Will it even work in the TL? I know it has bluetooth, but how long until "Handsfree link" makes it compatible with the car. I am looking on their website and the LG is not one of the phones that is listed. Anybody know anything about how long it takes before they come out with pairing instructions??
Stellarzz,
My understanding is that it will link automatically. The reason it is not on Acura's list, is because it did not exist when the car was made. I could be wrong, but I believe no changes to your car are necassary, just have the phone in the car and hit link.
