So MP3 CD's don't work in the TL?

I burned like 3 MP3 CD's and none of them work in my TL Base 2006.

I get the error: DISC FORMAT, then EJECTS..

Can anyone help?

I think MP3 CDs only work in 07+. They work in my 07.

Do one better and burn some DVD-A disc. You can still put tons of songs on the DVD and it will be in surround. Sounds tons better than MP3.

The cheapest option would be for you to burn DVD-As. The next cheapest might be to get an MP3 player, and the most expensive option would be to sway headunits from an '07.

although to swap the 04-06 radio with an 07-08 you'd need a special plug n play harness. i am considering this as well but thinking about adding the nav and not sure if nav radio is different from non nav radios... anyone know?

Cheapest route in my opinion is to just add the iPod or Zune to the car.

I have a windshield mounted GPS unit (since my TL is non-navi) and it has an MP3 player built in. I just swap the map data card with a SD card containing hundreds of MP3's and it plays through an FM radio station on the car's stereo. Amazing sound and a pretty inexpensive solution. I picked up the GPS refurbished off of eBay for $120

The radio is the same in both, but crossing years has caused some problems for navi conversions. HLF, and the clock are two problems I know of.

You'd need the new radio and the navi unit in the trunk for that swap.......the old navi units software doesn't play with the new radio visa versa

I was having problems with my DVD-A when i first got my 05 TL, but i switched to the isimple Ipod connection. Easier and smoother albeit more expensive than the DVD-A solution.
