Simple Amp Install completely INSANE

OK.. a little about myself. I have done car audio/video/electronics for about 10 years now. I bought a TL cause I didnt want to get a car that I would do any modifications too. unfortunately my old habits and hobbies got the best of me. So I installed a CarPC and a SIMPLE Amp and Subwoofer. Nothing too extreme with the bass.. just 1 12" Alpine Type-R and Alpine Mono MRD-M301 Amp. This is NOTHING to me, back in high school i had 3 JL Audio W6's in a little hatch.. so here is the deal...

My car is possessed or something!! I installed the system flawlessly. For some reason i got engine noise!!! let it be known that this is the first time I have ever gotten engine noise from a SUB!! highs is a different story.

THIS IS THE CRAZY PART!! when i open the doors there is NO engine noise.. its like a switch.. close the doors and ERRRRRR rumble, engine noise. rev the motor up and down and its nasty! open the door and its GONE!!! WTF!

background of this install
-12V BATT run down center console
-GRND short as possible - of course
-RCA's run along passenger side (hi/lo converter at factory amp)

now the game of "process of elimination"
1)to quickly try to solve the problem i used ground loop isolators. first at the amp.. really no change.. moved it to the hi/lo convertor at the factory amp.. little change but still ANNOYING engine noise!

2)re-ground (no change, knew that was going to happen cause first ground was good enough, p.s. yes genious i scraped all the paint off!!) err.. still engine noise

3)ran a NEW RCA cable on the outside of the car to the amp still engine noise

4)grounded the chasis of the amp.. still engine noise

5)thinking that the 12V BATT wire was possibly causing interference the the radio cause it was within inches i decided to quickly run another wire along the OUTSIDE of the car to the amp to test it out (picture a power wire on the driver side and a rca wire on the passenger side... GHETTO! but didnt leave my garage) still engine noise

6)tried a different hi/lo convertor with ground inputs multiple times throughout this process..

so pretty much i am stumped!! effin STUMPED!! does anyone out there have any ?? please dont bore me with the common fixes unless i completely missed one cause that will just frustrate me more..

im telling you this car is possessed!! why the hell would the engine noise STOP as soon as i open a door????????????????????? anyone??

my conclusion is that the amp needs to get repaired.. it may not be grounding correctly internally... who knows.. anyone??

make sure you grabbed the output side of the factory amp. also try moving the LOC to the factory sub itself and tap on there. Also, where did you tap on for remote turn on? I suggest going straight to the ignition harness if you havent already

well i dont want to BORE you but it is definitely grounding issues. And im sure you may have already, but you did run the power wire and the RCA cable on different sides of the car right? have you tried swapping the amp? may isolate the issue for you.

oh yea, try a higher gauge ground wire and ground it to a different part of the chassis

What year is your TL? I remember reading something about defeating the noise cancellation on the later models when adding aftermarket amplification...maybe it applies here...

Is it a type-s? If so, you have to disconnect the mic for the noise cancellation system. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=noise
