Shock Sensor

I been reading for 2 week now on how to install this and still i havnt seen a TRUE answer yet, before u guys say i didnt seach i look at https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/shock-sensor-wire-help-571157/ , https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/shock-sensor-addon-factory-help-602856/ , i even look at the alarm wiring diagrams.

does anyone have a direct answer on which wire to tap into to get the shock sensor working. mine has 4 wire but one is for dual stage i know im suppose to tire the single stage and dual stage wire togther. i just know know which wire to use for trigger, negative and postive. im was lookin into the door trigget wire but taking off the door panel wasnt something i wanted to do. was wondering if i can acess it anywhere else. if not any trigger wire i would use i mind

Since i havnt found a ground that on when the car is off. and off when the car is on. what i did was i ran a switch. so whenever i leave the car i turn the switch on and when im in the car i turn it off.. so my wiring is this

i have the dei shock sensor 4 WIRE.. the blue and green wire i wired together.. some cut off the green wire since it just a warn wire and out car doesnt have a warn output just trigger..

12volt wire from the shock sensor i used the WHITE wire on the trunk release switch

DOOR TRIGGER- i used the light green/red wire that in the driver door kick panal... there are 3 OF THEM THAT ARE THE same color... u can either strip all 3 and connect it until u get the right one or use some kinda meter to test the volt.. i used the first method. luckly i got it right on my 2nd try. SO THE GREEN AND BLUE WIRE i splice togther with the door trigger wire..

The black wire which is the ground wire i just used any ground thats around the area and i used a in line switch to turn it off and on..

U can either put a switch on the 12volt wire or the ground wire or honestly any wire . i think.

pic coming soon. when i install the tilt sensor ill take some pic.. hopefully this help someone

BTW LOL im still looking for a 12volt wire that off when the car is on and on when the car is off. either that or a ground that does the same.. thank u

Thanks for the mini-DIY!

I'm looking into doing the same thing (Adding a shock sensor and probably a proximity sensor to our OEM alarm).

Please forgive me guys im at working and im doing this quickly lol...

to begin with the shock sensor has 4 wires..
BLUE and green wire together connect to door trigger
Red wire- connect to 12 volt
black wire- connect to ground.

you need to either find a positive ground or use a switch like i did. i used the switch on the power wire.

12volt wire from the shock sensor i used the WHITE wire on the trunk release switch ... you can use another 12volt wire if u may choose or find one. up to u .. i put a switch on this wire to turn the shock sensor on and off. i also have a tilt sensor on this switch.. ill probably find a better 12volt power to run my switch to but for now it works and work PERFECT.

in this next PIC LOOK AT THE BLACK WIRE.. THATS wire i grounded the sensor at..

i put my sensor in a cotton looking thing, thats in the panel that that the trunk release is on.. i use that panel cause its the same panel that when u close the drive door it presses on.

just some extra pic

the hardest part is finding that stupid door trigger which like i said in my second post what i did but u have 33% of getting it right cause only 3 wires in the door kick panel has green and red. just find the one closets to the brake pedal...

and second is mounting the shock sensor but mounting the shock sensor is trial and error. i put mine in 10 location, arm the car hit the fender, hit the door hit the hood until i got the result i want... than i realize im not worried about someone breaking in my car, im worried about someone stealing my aspec front lip that i paid so much for LOL... so i got a tilt sensor lol.. part number is dei507m .. my car is lowered u have to get under the car to take the lip off or if u come with a toe truck... so the tilt sensor was exactly what i needed

I believe that's the DEI 504 (same one I'm looking at!)

Thanks again!

Do you think you can take a video of it in action for us?

I'm placing an order on one of these and determined to find out a wire that is hot when the car is off but off when the car is on. (Making it so that I don't need a manual "killswitch" whenever I enter and exit the car).

People, please chime in!

And thanks for everything dude.

Props to you for figuring it all out by yourself.

Thanks for confirming!

Ugh I can't wait to do this and make a full out DIY!

Seems like this shock sensors to factory alarm hasn't had much attention =(

I was wondering, if it would be possible to order a chirp siren and wire that warning wire from the sensor to it so that the warning feature would be functional.

Like 20 dollars.

This Corvette has the same DEI shock sensor installed (I noticed via the LED, even though the guy didn't specify what shock sensor):

Let me know how it goes!

I figured, for 20 bucks you can't go wrong LOL
They're so under rated!

It seems like the 2G TLers have been adding shock sensors for a while LOL
Found lots of threads on it in the 2G board (through google).

Wiring should be really similar, right?

His way works perfect!

The only thing I would do differently than him is wire the GROUND or POSITIVE lead from the sensor to somewhere that will turn the sensor ON when the car is off, and turn the sensor OFF when the car is on.

I'm pretty sure you have to use a relay, or just find the right wire that only turns on when the car is off lol.

I'm gonna do more reading into how the 2G TLers did it because I don't think they used a relay!

I did this 4 yrs ago, so can't remember the details anymore. But I tapped the hood switch, no need to worry about turn the shock sensor on/off. Tapping door switch will give door open warning message. I also added audio/glass break sensor.

i think we have to use a relay to switch polarity.. beeen doin lot of reading and it seem very straight forward to wire in a relay to switch positive to negative. here another link i found on how to http://www.commandocaralarms.com/info_spdt_relays.asp

when i get from work i should have an extra relay socket and relay somewhere. so ill attempt to give it a try based on the instruction in that link. a relay i think thats needed is the 5 pin one

the leads are
30, 85,86,87,87a ...

Glad to hear you're trying the relay method.
By all means it should work because these applications are exactly what relays were designed for lol

I also find that tapping into the hood pin switch is a good idea too.
Who knows...

Tapping into the hood pin means the sensor would would be powered 24/7 so i dont know if thats good or if there are any downsides.

Got your pm, figure I'll add the info here.

Installed Compustar shock sensor & DEI audio/glass sensor to factory alarm.

Tapped the hood switch, wire is ran into the cabin. Shock sensor is installed on the lower center console & microphone for glass break sensor is installed in center vent.

Installed for 4 yrs already, no issues or what so ever. Tapping keys on windshield sets off the glass break sensor...pretty neat!

FYI...my compustar alarm on my other car has +12V to the shock sensor 24/7, which is normal. No need to over think it.

My sensors too are on 24/7 other than the shock sensor thst I turn on and off and I was thinking that my tilt sensor is tap into the hood switch and I didn't use any toggle switch on itI... Maybe since it only active when it's armed and off when it's disarm maybe I should run the trigger inside the cabin and instead of using the door trigger for shock sensor I use the hood switch. I'll post pic in the morning of my tilt sensor ... I tap the trigger and ground wire on the hood switch for my tilt sensor and ran power from my battery by tilt sensor is tie strap and tapped to the front bumper reinforcement bar ..

Thanks guys!

I just ordered a shock sensor and will take your advice to tap into the hood latch switch opposed to the door trigger.

s2000gtx, give the hood latch switch a shot lol

I wonder if buying a "audible beeper" and wiring it to the warning wire would work.

http://www.kptechnologies.com/products.php#/7

It sounds similar to the Lexus lock/unlock, which would be a cool warning.
