Setting gains, amp & line converter basics

So i have the audio control lc7i installed prior to amp.

I decided to use only the four channels (front & rear) to the audio control to send to the alpine pdx-v9 5 channel amp (100x4 & 500x1).
The amp can take the four channels and feed the sub channel. Wasn't sure if I'd miss something using the single channel subwoofer speaker inputs for the sub channel. Also I used the channel sum option as well so all channels combined for output.

Or am I missing something this way?? Sounds pretty good overall.

1.) I have the LC7i gains set at 60%
2.) Then set radio at 75% volume and dialed the gains on the amp to set speaker levels based on volume and distortion for the front
3.) Dialed in the rear fill after that
4.) Dialed in amount of bass for the given highs...
*****front & rear gains are about 60% on amp, and sub is about 80%.

Do these gains setting seem fine in general?, or am i probably better to bump up the LC7i gains & back off the amp gains?

The only thing your missing is sub control. you lost it from the HU when you summed the channels and let the amp take care of the sub. just add a gain control knob for the sub channel and your set.

Was thinking of using the sub channel, but you have to make to leads of each positive and negative right for the left and right channel since it's just a single channel?

So i went with out it incase the HU limited the signal? But sounds like I should be fine if I did.
And yea I lose the HU sub volume control, but an alpine sub control is available for like $30 if I feel the need.

Anther question if you can help...
The components seem to be missing mid bass for whatever reason. I sound deadened the doors, but left the openings in the door open assuming if I needed access to the stuff in there I could. But i can easily close them up with some more matting. Will this help?

Polk Audio MM 6501 components and have tons of good reviews.
