Think I will have better luck calling around to Radio Shack or Verizon Wireless when trying to get the V710?

 

It's not at VZW stores yet, so RS is your only bet for now. Also, RS doesn't do NE2, so if you are eligible, I'd wait for VZW to get it.

 

That was my problem...I was qualified for a $100 credit w/Verizon. I got the phone because they were holding one for me (Verizon will not hold a phone for a customer, ad most stores are getting 20 or less during their initial shipment), and I was getting it 13 days early (less than $10/day for every day I will have the phone before the official release for the novelty of being among the first around to get the phone) for the $100 sacrifice.

At this point, I'm sure all RS stores are sold out, so 8/11/04 is your big day!

 

I just bought my V710 this AM at RS. I WAS going to wait, but decided I was going to play with the phone on my last few days of vacation--working 70+ hours a week leaves little time to play with my gadgets. :'(

I may not have gotten NE2 this time, but I am eligible for the $70 rebate, and paid only $319.99 up front.

 

Samer here...and, so far, its worth it (until the phones start going for $50 a few months from now)

 

Thats where my problem comes in. I got the TL 3 months after I used the ne2. I will now have to pay full price for a phone that will eventually end up on the buy one get one free deal for $49.99.

 

Just picked it up today!! its awesome!! I hope they can fix the battery and signal strength features.. I also noted that some of the GET IT NOW doesnt look right.. I am sure they will have a new software update for the phone to fix most of this. Just hope they can get the battery and signal strength too..

 

I would just cancel CDMA service and go for GSM....but on the east coast I know Verizon is king in NJ/MD/PA/VA so I guess go to radio shack.

 

If verizon wasn't the best around here I would cancel.. Picked it up today and hoping for a fast firmware/software update.

 

I had luck at a RS in San Diego... YMMV. Now i just need a 10 year old to teach me how to pair it with the TL...
