Right or wrong?
Right or wrong?
So I just placed an order w/ Heeltoe Auto for 07/08 Phantom Audio amp tuned by Jesse L. Kelly! Now, I have an 05 and strangely it's got an 07 amp in there already so someone's messed with this before. After watching videos and hearing other's on the forum talk about it, I've decided to pull the trigger. I also ordered the tweeters along with it! Will be posting pictures soon when installing.
good purchase for someone who doesn't want to mess with replacing stock audio. it's a good solution but not anything like running aftermarket speakers and amp.
there are reviews on here so you don't have to wait for this review haha. there's been many sold and talked about on here.
enjoy!

Install and thoughts
What are your thoughts OP? I agree with sockr, this is a good solution for anyone who doesn't want to go through the hassle of a full aftermarket install. AKA - a good middle ground between stock and full aftermarket sound system.
I did my sound system install trying to keep the car as stock as possible. The only two things I hacked up were the doors to mount the speakers and the harness into the doors to run wiring. I did fiberglass my A-pillars, but will buy replacements. Tweeter grills were also shaved. Radio trims have the holes filled. All of those I would find replacements for if I sell the car. I left all of the factory wiring intact because that can't really be replaced or fixed to OEM standards. One day I'll finish the install and get pictures up.

Difference
So I didn't make a video to compare like a few on YouTube but take my word, THERE IS A HUUUGE difference. When on 10, it sounds like the old amp on 20. It's very powerful. Great lows and fantastic highs. Worth every penny. Thanks Heeltoe Auto!
Sadly the dash came to me like this. And yes, its very very brittle. I'm thinking about buying a brand new dash but I think I've put enough money into my TL already. I pretty much brought it out of the grave. And it looks a lot better than other TL's in my area.
That dash was toast to begin with. Looks like it's got brittle bone disease.

true...The dash is already pretty f-ed up. And the dash was pretty brittle. This was my first tweet install and I didn't know where to pry.

I would just buy a good quality dash cover if I were you. A brand new OEM dash will run you like $750. A used dash in good condition will be (estimating) $300-$500. A dash cover will run you under $100.
I am looking at buying one for my car to protect my dash. Now that you have new audio equipment, the dash mat will also add to overall sound quality. There will be less reflection off the dash cover carpet then the plastic. A lot of guys in the sound quality scene run dash covers for this reason. So you win in two ways.
Glad you're enjoying the new gear! Car audio is a rabbit hole and I'm passed the point of no return.

For future reference, if you don't have the appropriate plastic un-clipping tools, you can always use a butter knife or screwdriver with a microfiber cloth for protection. It's better than using a spoon
No the spoon was to support the screw driver that way it wouldn't cut the dash...But since my dash has seen better days. Also I'm Asian, we don't have butter knives. It's either a giant butcher knife, pairing knife, or a long cutlery knife lol. My house has every knife you can name. ALL but a simple butter knife.
Give it a shot, if you don't like it return it.
my understanding is you can order the bass plus amp which is made for 04-06 amps as well as 07-08 amps. If you have a stock 07 08 amp, you can get your 70 core charge refunded after sending it in.
not sure what you mean....
Core charge is right. Try out the bass plus. If you don't like it return it. ALL amps(04-08) are all compatible with each other. But yes, if you wanna eat the core charge then go for it!
well you don't really eat a core charge. its kindve like a mail in rebate I guess, except you have to give up your stock amp.
since we shouldn't have any function for it after ordering jesse's amp, im all for that.
ill be most likely be putting in an order for this amp.
gotta work a lil OT first to justify it....lol
