I’ve done a lot of research here, and I see people are replacing stereos in non-nav TL’s, but in all my searching I have yet to see anyone with factory nav go with an aftermarket stereo.

So my question:

-what am I going to loose if I pull the factory stereo in a TL with factory nav? Bluetooth speakerphone? Voice from the navigation? Speech recognition? The navigation system all together?? What else?

AND

-It looks like the DICE adaptor is the most popular around here. Will any of the options that connect the ipod to my factory deck allow me to build, navigate, and search play lists and my music library from the factory deck?

I’ve got another vehicle with an alpine deck in it and I LOVE the way it interfaces with the ipod. Especially for search functions and play list control. ALL my music is on my ipod, and as much as I love the TL, not having complete ipod control is killing me. if you pull the factory HU, first of all you would need to make a custom dash kit. Then you would loose the navi voice, HFL system, and also the navi system would throw some errors at you for not having the radio hooked up since it's integrated into the radio. If you want integration to the point where you get text, can fast forward and rewind with the radio and ipod, get the dice
