Hi, I had a remote starter installed by the dealer. The brand and model is DEI 561R. The sequence works when I do the Lock-Unlock-Lock on the key fob. Does anyone experience the triggering of the OEM alarm? Anyone else have their remote starter installed by the dealer?

Also when I use the Lock-Unlock-Lock sequence, I cannot unlock the doors, which means I have to use the key. Is there anyway around this?

 

Have you tried searching the forum for remote start*?

From my past experiences, many members have to carry two key fobs when working with an aftermarket alarm.

 

They added another module for the valet key so I can use the original keyfob.

 

Okay, I just tried the lock-lock sequence and the alarm triggered. After it triggered, I put my key in to unlock the door. I closed the door and try the lock-lock again, and the alarm didn't trigger. Anyone else having this problem?

 

I tell my system (the Viper 791XV which I installed myself) to disarm the factory alarm before starting the car. Had to tap into a wire INSIDE the driver's door to do that though. Most places won't want to do that, it's a lot of work!

 

Hmm...why does the Lock-Unlock-Lock sequence work without the alarm? Maybe the unlock disabled the alarm and then the module sense 2 pulses?
