07 TL Navi Defect with Navi or Normal

I just got my TL 07 with Navi(and it is a great car) the other day and I noticed that the Navi screen sometimes is slightly lighter on the bottom than the rest of the screen.

If I shift into reverse the screen looks normal(without the lighter bottom portion) but once back into the Map screen that lighter area will sometimes re-appear.

Is this a defect and needs a repair or is this a normal behavior of the Navi system?

Thanks,
Dan

I believe the navi does this to make it easier to see the street name that you are on.

The same thing happened to my Laptop's LCD and it turned out that LCD was bad and needed to be replaced, I was worried about the same thing in the case of the Navi but since the response has been so poor to this post(probably means that I am newbie and should know better) and with you response(thank you for taking the time to respond) I am going to relax and just enjoy my new car.

I haven't really noticed on mine, it all looks uniform, I'll check it out later today. You may also want to stop in to the dealer and look at other navi screens.

You're right, relax and enjoy the car, if it is a problem it'll be covered under warranty.

Welcome to the forums!

I'm on my second TL with Navi and have never noticed any difference in the screen display.

It seems like something is loose. The '07 Base TL has the option to add a backup camera that activates when the car is placed in reverse. This may be the reason why the screen appears differently when you place the car in reverse. Something may be wrong with the regular navi to LCD connection. A trip to the dealer should fix it. Good luck!

My screen is illuminated uniformally (is that a word?). Anyway, compare with others at the dealer and have them fix if it's a problem!

Good point RE: relax and enjoy the car, when I get a spare minute I will it over to the dealer and get it looked at.

I have been an MDX driver for a while even drove the precursor to the MDX, the SLX and have found all these vehicles to be of excellent build quality.
