Rear Subwoofer vibration

My rear subwoofer has been generating a lot of vibration whenever I turn on my stereo. It's getting worse everyday.

Is there anything that I can do to eliminate this?

Thanks guys.

He is referring to sound deadener. When it is applied correctly, it can reduce rattling noises associated with speaker vibrations. The link below explains quite a bit about different types of sound deadeners, and how its applied. Ensolite is another material that is effective towards insulating car panels against vibrations.

Click this link for more info on sound deadening:

Here is my install, and how I solved my rear deck rattling problem:

Not too hard. But you will need to use some finesse. Both rear C-Pillars, Back seat (upper and lower) and rear deck cover all have to come off to get to the rear deck/speakers. All you need is a 10mm socket on a 6" quarter inch extension and a quarter inch ratchet. All the rest of the fasteners are clips and they pop off with a little force.

This blessed site has great instructions for removing all these panels. Search is working pretty well today so you can try searching or reading the 3G Garage.

The rear seat removal was a pain. It is quite labor intensive, and may not always resolve rattle issues. Some people have simply stuck something in between the deck and the rear glass to stop noise. I have included a link to the removal of the rear seat below.

Don't Unbolt Seat back bolts Completely!

Good find, Tech.

Also be sure when unbolting the bolts that are just under the headrests, DON'T remove the entire bolt. JUST LOOSTEN IT and undo the other 3 bolts. Once the rest are off, pull up (towards the roof of the car) on the seat back and it will "unhook" from the bolts you loostened. If you follow this procedure you will have a much easier time getting everything back together, since you can't see the bolt hole to get the bolt started when reassembling.

Take the center bolt on the bottom and throw it away (keep it, just not in the car).

That bolt cost me 4 hours of pain, aggravation and every single cuss word I knew (hyphenated them too). It adds no value, only pain and despair.

The ABS clips kinda suck and cost about 25 bux if you screw them up beyond repair. They pull out a little bit and then on the narrow sides there are plastic clips (barbs...) that are easier to get out if you push on them.

Make note where and what color the clips (blue or white) came from / should go to.

Have you ever thought of the possibility that your sub might be blown?
