Reader's Digest Article - TL stolen (and Bluetooth involved)

Interesting (and scary) article in October's Reader's Digest about a family who had their TL stolen out of their driveway, with the kids in the backseat. The husband chases them in another car, and calls 911 from his cell phone, and the Bluetooth in the TL is also activated! Interesting...

Interesting... But It looks like the writer didn't get her facts straight. Bluetooth can't work half a mile away, phone has to be within 30' from the vehicle. If Blutooth had activated, caller in another car wouldn't hear or talk to the operator.
And he sucsessfully chased the TL in Trailblazer!

This is a bogus story the HFL cant let you dial out and talk to someone from your handset and inside the car.

something bout that story dosen't seem right. i deal with bluetooth stuff at work all day long and i know for a fact that the headset will not work even in a stright line with no interferiance for more than 40 feet. plus if the phone is linked to the car u can't use the auctul phone to talk or hear.

Actually if the bluetooth isn't working properly it can work and your phone can work at the same time. Seen it happen with a Samsung on my own car. So it is possible.

i think it depends on the phone that you are using, my nokia 6270 lets the sound in the car and through the phone hen the HFL is connected. Also i doubt that an suv could go 100mph around curves....

The story doesn't make too much sense to me... there are too many holes in the story but its fun to read nonetheless.
