Radio code issue...

Ok I did a search and my dilema is not quite like what anyone else has had. I purchased an 04 MT non navi from a used dealer. The radio says CODE when I turn it on. So I dig through the glovebox and find a card with the supposed code and serial number on it. So I punch in the code....it doesnt work. It says ERR1....it does this through ERR9 and then it just says ERRE. I called the acura dealer and he said to disconnect the battery for awhile and then reconnect and try again. Why would I have to disconnect and then reconnect?? Anyone have any ideas??

probably to clear the memory of the system and to start over fresh... you might have locked the radio and possibly need to disconect the battery to unlock it.... just a thought..

tried disconnection for 30 seconds and it still didnt work. I think I have a different radio than what my card says, so I will have to look into that now...

try to leave it disconnected longer. it still holds a charge.. or you can take the postive and negative termials and touch them together... that will competely drain the power immediately..

Holding down one and six at the same time, with the key ON and the radio on should give you your serial number. This then give to the acura dealership and they give you your code.

Are you sure that this will work on a 3G and not a 2G????
