Say you had no front plate and the next best target is the headlight cluster, what happens if you had your HID headlights on? Would the LASER gun be fooled because of the intensity and/or the spectrum of HIDs? Might they interfere with the LASER-spot projected onto your headlight cluster?

I have the V1, had it for about 3 years now.

I was almost ready to sell it and buy the 8500 X50, since the one thing it had that MY V1 didn't have was POP detection. I've run into that in MD (V1 registered nothing as I went by a speed trap where the officer was DEFINITELY pointing at me).

Then a few months later, someone told me that the V1 now has POP. I sent mine (had the V1.8 circuitry already) in and had it upgraded to V1.8 POP for $55 plus shipping both ways. I got it back in about a week.
