V551 caller ID

I have my Motorola V551 working in the TL but the caller ID doesn't work. Not sure if it is supported with the V551 or if a firmware upgrade is needed. Right now the car just shows phone rather then the actual number coming in. I'd really like to have that feature working so that I choose to answer if it is work.

Anybody have this working with the V551?

Moto V551

I am using the Motov551 and yes, the caller ID should be working in the TL. However, if you get a call with 'unknown number' or any ID other than a phone number, it will not display. I believe it just says 'incoming call'. Also, the battery meter does not display in thge MID with Moto V551. Further, message alerts will not display, just numeric caller ID. Also, it will not display a name / lable to a number in the phone's address book.

Check to see if the caller ID is functioning correctly on the phone itself, it could be related to your cell carrier.

I have had very good performance with my Moto V551 in the TL. I usually place the phone in the lower bin of the center stack (next to the power port). Also, leaving the Bluetooth on all day will drain your battery. I turn the Bluetooth on when heading to the car, and off when leaving the car. Setting up a shortcut in the Moto will make it easy.

Good Luck!

Thanks. It might be due to everyone who has called me has been in my V551 phone book so since it is associated with a name the number isn't being shown on the MID. Just a thought.

Unhappy Phone Book

If someone calls me that is in my Moto's phonebook, their number appears on the MID (not the name, as the phone does).

There may be a firmware issue with your phone? Who is you cell carrier? I believe Verizon disabled some of the Bluetooth features on the Motos. That could be related to your problem. I am an Cingular (ATT adoptee) user and my Moto operated with the HFL as expected.

I have Cingular as well. I'll check to see if there is a firmware upgrade for my phone.
