Lightbulb RADAR help!

Okay so I have a radar detector (Beltronics Vector 995) and I'm waiting to have it hardwired in my car so I don't have a cord across my dash. My questions are...

1.) My dealership said it would void the warranty if it messed anything up - does anyone know anything about this? Has anyone had any problems with having once installed in your car? Help!

2.) Would some of yall mind posting or emailing me pictures of where your detector is located on your window.

I can't thank you enough for your time, help, and advise! This will be MY first "mod" to my car - anything other than stock and without the dealership doing so I'm freaked out! I need everyone's feedback - PLEASE!

i think anything you do that isn't OEM, would void warranty. However, i believe they have to prove that whatever mod you did, was the thing that caused the problem.
Anyways, I have my Valentin1 hardwired into my car, and i haven't had a problem. I actually don't see how hardwiring the radar detector could cause any problem in the car.
I'll try to take a pic of where mine i located tomorrow. It actually sits in an area that isn't advantageous to most people, but I also have the concealed display so i don't have to look at the V1 to see the direction of the signal. It's currently located RIGHT below the tinted strip on the top of the windshield, a little to the right of the rear view mirror.

That's not exactly true. The dealer would need to prove that the aftermarket part is the direct cause of your OEM parts' failure. For example, if they can prove that the hard-wired detector shorted out and killed the radio they can void the warranty on the radio.

On another hand. They cannot void the warrant on your suspension b/c you installed a radar detector.

As for the location of the radar detector, you want to mount it as high on the windshield as possible. I don't use radar detector anymore (cops here uses laser) but I used to mount my V1 right next to my rearview mirror.

No pics at the moment but my passport is mounted behind my rearview mirror and the remote is on the housing behind my steering wheel.
