I just ordered a passport escort 8500 x50 and I was curious about the smartcord. Since this would display an alert, can I hide the radar detector somewhere? Kinda goes in line with the concealed display for the v1. Can you take these radar detectors and place them in an area where you cannot see it? I figure it would deteriorate the range of the detector, but I thought I might as well ask.
