Quick Way to Shut Navi Screen Off?

Is there some slick button combo to turn the navi screen off instead of going into the options screen 2?

I hate it at night sometimes and just want to turn it off, especially when backing up.

I have a 2004, BTW.

Wait you can turn off the navi when you dont want it on anymore?!?! I didn't know that. I usually just let it go off on its own when I get into the car. I just don't press the "OK" button.

Thanks. The button voice will be way better for me... at least I don't have to take my eye off of the road and focus/refocus on the bright vs dark.

This wasn't as big of an issue, but I just had lasik and the bright/dark is still a pain for a few more months.

navi screen turn-off

That is really cool that you are able to turn off the screen by a voice command... what other options do you have with the voice button?

There are about 400 voice commands listed in the Navi owner's manual, and listed under the "Info" (bottom of "Set-up" button) section of the Navi.

The climate control, audio and Navi are all voice-controllable.
