Quick navigation question

I test drove an 07 TL and it's pretty nice. One thing I noticed is that it seems every time you start the car you have to enter a code, hit "ok", and then agree to Acura's warning page on navigation...is there any way to get around this?

As far as I know there is the welcome screen, which you can modify, and there's thenag or OK screen. I don't think there is a crack for the OK screen for the 07/08 models.

Entering the code = BAD!!!! you only enter the code after the battery has been disconnected. If its the navigation system asking for the code, that's a 2000+ dollar fix since the navi drive is starting to fail.

That sounds odd. Maybe there also could be something wrong with the constant 12 volt power that goes to the dvd drive.

When we went to test drive the TL the battery was dead. So that might have been the problem right there. It's still under warranty too, so would it still be a $2000 fix?

Also, I have an Altima with a nav unit and certain features cut out while driving. As far as I've researched there is no hack or bypass module to fix that.

Does the TL's nav unit do that and if so can you fix it somehow?

thanks

No the TL Nav unit does not do that, all features are available. My wife's Prius does that too, it's really annoying.

if its under warranty, its no cost to you. If the battery was dead, its ok. My suggestion is to go back and see the car. See if it wants the code again even if the battery is charged.

The purpose of the code:
The code is basically put in the system to prevent theft. Basically when the unit loses power (as if a thief is stealing it), it will lock and an unlock code is required once power is restored. This happened when the battery died, no power to the unit and it locked itself.

I made sure not to turn my code off, the dealer told me it was basically to prevent auto theft but can be a real pain in the butt!
