Unhappy Question about VSA

I bought a 2008 TL few days ago. When I bought it, I didn't ask to dealer what VSA was and how it worked. So I read the manual book. Now I understand what it is, but I think there's a problem on it(I'm not sure). The manual says "VSA is turned on every time you start the engine, even if you turned it off the last time you drove the vehicle"
When I turn the ignition to the ON(II) position, I can see the yellow triangle light turns on.
BUT! After I start engine, the yellow light is gone, which means it doesn't work unless I press VSA Off switch again. I have to press it every time after staring engine because they also recommend driving with the VSA on.

Is this stupid question??

I'm just worried about my new ride because it's new one!! and it must be perfect!!

No, it's not a stupid question.
The car's default mode is to have VSA ON. The VSA light, like every other warning or "idiot" light, will light up at ignition to show that it is working, then deactivate a few seconds after the car has been started.

The VSA switch turns the VSA OFF after the car has been started. When you push the VSA button and the triangle light in the instrument panel comes on, that is a warning that the VSA is OFF.

In your situation, turn on the car and the VSA light will activate, then turn off automatically. Then drive. If you need to turn the VSA off (snow, ice, track driving, burnout in your driveway), push the VSA button to turn it off.

If your VSA warning stays lit after the car is started without you pushing the VSA button, see the dealer's service department.

Welcome to AZ.

So..
If yellow triangle light is on... that means VSA mode is not activated
and If I can't see the light that mean VSA mode is activated......???????

read the book again
when the car starts it runs a series of test - then the warning lights shut off when the car is running if all is well.
Any lights ON after startup indicate a problem- like Park Brake would mean park brake is ON.
Oil would mean NO oil in engine

If you want to temporarily Disable the VSA- for very certain and few reasons, then you push the button and a YELLOW light comes on to remind you
Also that light will flash when you spin the tires and TCS is active-working right then.
Its to alert you to a situation so you take your foot off the gas!

So the intent of what the book was saying-
no matter what you did last time, the car resets to normal to protect you next time~

Yes.

Light on = VSA off
Light off = VSA on

The light is warning you that you're not "protected".

Correct.

VSA Triangle Dash Light ON = VSA System OFF

VSA Triangle Dash Light OFF = VSA System ON

During driving the VSA traingle will flash if VSA is taking action. It is more common to have VSA activate during a loss of traction event. Although it will also activate during a "loss of control" event.

Check this thread (posts 22 & 23) for some Acura info on how VSA works:

VSA won't shut off

I put on snow tires with out TPM in them. Of course I get the warning about the TPMS not working everytime I start it. My problem is I now can no longer shut off VSA. Anyone with experience here. Is VSA tied to the TPMS. I put regular tires back on and VSA button works again.

Can you deactivate VSA a different way?

VSA Dash Light

Trying to figure out if I have a burned out dashboard light.

Will the VSA button be illuminated at night-time on a 2007 TSX? This is in normal VSA mode, not VSA turned off.

Thanks.

Normally the VSA is on and the light is off.
