Question about hooking up a RF 3sixty2

OK, I installed a complete system in my car and I am happy that its loud and hits pretty hard when needed but I really need to ditch the locs for the Rockford Fosgate 3sixty2. I am getting one in the near future. With the crap signal the head unit and oem amp gives off, I am missing all the mid and quality highs. I am sold on the 3sixty2! This thing is sick and imo, is worth every penny.

I had tapped the signal after the amp for the locs as I have been told to do by most threads on here. Now that I am going to hook up the sound processor, can I still use the amplified signal or do I have to get the signal before the amp?

I really don't want to take it all apart and solder and re-solder the leads on the oem amp. Also, do you set all your settings in the middle (0) for the treble, bass, sub, etc? Set the gains on the amp to half way as well? Then turn the processor on and let it adjust it for you? I have been reading up on this but since I am sure some of you guys on here have experience with this and have the same setup, I would love to know. Thanks guys.

i took the signal after the stock amp on both my 3sxty.1 and .2 installs. RF recommends it. for the amp gains and adjustment. i didnt have a blue tooth devise at the time, so i had a stereo shop with experience tune it.

Thanks Jamie. I started to look into this awesome device after my install as the regular signal really sucks ass. I spent a lot of money on my setup (not as much as you) but a lot and it just really isn't as clear as it can be. Did you ever hear your system before the processor hooked up (locs)? I have been told, this will clean everything up for me. I will setup the system with my bluetooth laptop but I just don't want to spend all weekend trying to dial it in. What did the stereo shop charge you to dial the system in? It might be well worth it with the amount of time it will take me.

Do you have certain EQ settings you have preset that you can toggle between for certain music played....rap, Linkinpark, Pink Floyd, etc.?

Jason, you have the knowledge but you really can't get it out in short sentences. My system is all right with a crap signal that you can't adjust anything other than the treble and bass. Reading up on the signal processor and knowing they work best for an OEM radio, its a no brainer. You can adjust speaker levels, time delays, 150 EQ levels...The list goes on and on! For 400 bucks, it better improve the music.

I thought my sound was ok but I have another car, a Lexus with the all impressive Mark Levinson sound system. I Took the disk from my car and played it in the Lexus and that system just is pure Bliss! Every single music cord is heard and each speaker (10 in all) really do the job. I would like to get sound somewhat like what the Lexus can produce. I figure, what other way than with a signal processor like the 3sixty2.? My next car is a GS350 with the 3,500 dollar Mark Levinson option. Worth every penny!

Correct, RX series. (wifes grocery getter)

I have 6.5 inch Image Dynamics up front wired with the included crossovers +3 on the tweeter levels.

Rears 6.5 inch Alpine 100 watts 2 way

Old ass 12 inch sub Pioneer completly sealed box powered by a bridged 450 watt Rockford Fosgate 450S

4 channel Cadence Daytona series 1000 watt amp.

Navone 4-channel locks for the speakers and a 2-channel locks for the sub.

The signal is taken after the amp. I updated the center speaker with a basic 2 channel 3.5 inch pyle speaker but decided not to power it yet.

All speaker wire is run to the rear of the car, locs are close to the amps and then out to the amp. I put Dynomate in the speaker holes but thats about it. The sub is also wired in from the sub signal so I have the controls for that as well. What is your input?

I ordered an Alpine 4 channel amp but the store ran out of them and they promised good things from the cadence amp. I heard the Daytona series is much better than some of the other amps they made. I have the gains set to half way on the amps. Nothing crazy but enough to make some descent noise.

The 3Sixty.2 has a step-by-step setup that tells you what to do in order to tune the processor. Just follow the Initial installation instructions provided in the software. I recommend you use a laptop instead of a PDA. There are a lot of bands per channel with the 3sixty.2

I set all my bands flat (middle) and tweaked from there after the initial setup. I also set my HU bands flat to tune it as well.

Yeah thats what I have been reading. I ordered it and it should be in this week. Just need to find the time to install it. Trew, did you ever have locs in the car before you put the processor in? If so, how is the sound difference? Night and Day or just a little different? Thanks for your input.

For all that I have seen and heard, the Rockford 3sixty.2 is the only way to go. A laptop is the only thing I have to use so I will be using that. Thanks!

Make sure your laptop supports bluetooth. There is no way to physically connect a cable to tune the 3sixty. You can download the software here if you want to see what it looks like.
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rnt/r...y2_PC_V103.zip

I installed everything at once, so I never had LOCs prior to the 3sixty. I can't imagine the system sounding anywhere close to what it sounds like with an audio processor installed. LOCs will just reduce a signal to line level for pre-amp input.

What I did was tune the 3sixty using the factory recommendations, and then left most of the EQ bands near the middle (flat). I use the head unit Bass and Treble to make dramatic changes on the fly since it's a pain in the ass to break out a laptop everytime you want to make a subtle change in your sound.

If you've got good quality speakers, you will probably love how it sounds with everything completely flat!

Let us know what you think when all is done.

Thanks, I will check that out. I did my homework here and other forms on the wonderful World Wide Web.....I have been reading a lot of reviews, seen a lot of videos and have seen comparisons with other processors. This one comes out ahead of the rest...Yeah, this thing cost some coin but I am willing to pay top dollar for top dollar sound. I am in my car at least 4-6 hours a day.

Completing my system with a prety sick processor....I found out it is a must have for the factory deck. I will be over the house in a couple weeks to give you a little demo. Get your best CD handy.

BTW, good to see you back on the forms!

Got my 360.2 refurb ebay (saved $60) only thing is it had old instructions... remember connect b+ to a constant not an acc. and if you want it as a remote to turn on your amps you gotta take the race with the rca inputs off and jumper the other set of pins...

good luck on the install

I got it and its sitting in my garage still in the box....Been too busy with work and building another deck in the backyard to have time for this mod. My B-day is at the end of this month and I am going to buy a digital 4 channel Alpine amp and use that for the speakers and use the Cadence amp for the center and sub channels.....Tie it all in to the 360.2 and I should have some amazing sound! I will let you know the first week of June.

Buy this thing if you want to get clean, clear, crisp sound!
