Project Zune

Happy New Year Everyone!

Last night I spent five hours installing the Pie X3 and Dom's TVandNav2Go as well as other miscellaneous parts including the Kuda mount with Zune encased in a Belkin Acrylic case for my 2004 Acura TL. I did so to accomodate my newly purchased Zune as well as a Pyle DVD player that I'll be installing sometime later this week (prewired it into the trunk).

I flushed mounted the Pie X3 audio selector and two switches I picked up at Radioshack used to switch between the Navi, Zune, and DVD player near my subwoofer control located at the lower deck lid under the steering wheel.

I wanted to thank everyone that had done these installs as it provided some background information into how to do the install. I'll tell you this, the Pie X3 was a cinch to install with no special tools and so was Dom's unit with provided insructions found on this web site.

Below are some pictures, albeit not the best, you can get the general idea.

Enjoy.

More pictures will follow with my Pyle DVD install in the next week...

Have a good one!

Let me clarify my question. Apart from dom's nav coverter and Pie X3, what other parts do I need to get the zune screen on the navigation screen.

Thanks

Got it, I got the answer I wanted. I didn't realize monster had a AV cable that connected to the Zune's stereo jack.

Thanks for the long list.

No problem!

As I was doing the install, I noticed my car battery was going (after 2 years) and had ordered one for delivery. However, this afternoon, the car didn't start. The battery didn't last that long. Long story short in 2 hours I'll be picking an Optima up from Sears 34/78 - prepaid, cost me like $194 bux though. Ouch. I didn't really have a choice though. At least it will be beneficial going forward with all my mods.

Have a good new year everyone!

Looks good, glad to see other people leaning towards the zune. Quick question, what did you use to hold the zune on the mount? I dont see the cradle that you can attach.

Hooksta - you can use the same method but only videos will show on the screen. You can not see anything else as the ipod doesnt support it yet. This is the reason I switched to the Zune.

Zune is in an acrylic case. On the back of this case and on the Kuda mount is heavy duty velcro. The soft side is on the acrylic case so that when I am mobile with the unit, it is nice and clean as well as no issues in pockets, etc. It makes for a clean install and does not mess with the actual Zune itself.

WOW!!! Great work man. I'm going to have to come by and check it out. Maybe when it gets a little warmer out, you can give me some tips on how to do this on my TL!
