Could someone please help me with my new 05 MDX. Yes I know this is not an MDX Forum but no one would answer over there. I tried pressing the XM button and it does nothing. I than tried pressing the XM button followed by the MODE button which still did nothing. I was able to retrieve my 05 TL's code by pressing XM button and changing the channel to Zero and the 8 digit code appeared as it should.
What does it mean that nothing happens when I press the XM button. I assumed that it did nothing because it has not been activated in the last 9 months or so. Please help me with this if you can. I assume the radio's in both models function somewhat the same.

 

I think it is channel one that has the code. Even if your do not have a subscription you should still be getting a few advertising channels. If you are not hearing anything on the XM you should take it back to the dealer, could be a problem with the radio.

 

When my battery went dead, I had to enter the NAVI & radio code. The same thing happened when I tried pressing the XM button & nothing turned on. I didn't know I had to use the 1-5 buttons below the screen to enter the 5 digit code. I was able to retrieve both code's from the Acura Owner Link where I registered the 1st day I bought the car.

Other than that, the radio code & XM radio ID are two different numbers. The XM radio ID is used to activate your XM subscription. The radio code is used to unlock the radio. Good luck.

 

Thanks guys for the help. I was wondering if the antenna might be disconnected. I also tried pressing the On-star button and absolutely nothing happens. I assumed this was because I do not have a subscription and it probably has not been used in 9 months. I called client services and they said that it should at least beep and connect me with a representative to renew my subscription. Does this mean anything to any one out there that both On-star and XM do not function at all. Last thing I want to mention is that the homelink does work I programmed my garage yesterday. I have no idea if any or all of these are tied together. I had an acura parts guy tell me to check the fuses but I assume the radio fuse would also control the XM portion of the unit. He also said to check the antenna's but had to get back with me on where to locate them. Go figure. Thanks in advance to anyone that takes the time to read this long post but my wife is really pissed and I have to hear about it. She does not want totake the truck to the dealer because of all the problems I just had with my TL....

 

My dad just bought a brand new Odyssey and we have the same problem. He didnt get the navigation but whenever I push the XM button, nothing happens. I think my dad needs to take it back to the dealer and get it figured out
