Problem pairing my phone

I go through the pairing process successfully until I get to the part where I have to name the device. At this point I press the button, and the system just stops. It’s as if the pressing of the button that last time sends the system back to the main menu.

I just got back from the dealer where the solution was a $600 new HFL unit.

What are my other options? Has anyone ever seen this problem?

Thanks!

What kind of phone? I've had similar issues with my HTC PPC6800. I actually have to start the pairing process on the HFL and also on the phone to get it to recognize it. Then it's hit and miss as to whether I can get it name the phone. When it does ask to name the phone, I hit the button, say the name, and wait a couple of seconds and the systems gives the hang-up beep and goes back to the main menu. (most of the time) I continue this process, usually several times, before I can get it to take the name and pair the phone.
I have found that a fresh boot of the phone helps.

Also, make sure you give it a name that's completely different from any other phones that you have paired or names saved in the address book. Nothings worse than finally getting it to take the name only to exit because it was too close to another name already stored. I speak from experience.

I have a Sanyo SCP-3200. The guy at the dealer tried his phone - with the same result, he had an LG phone, not sure of the model.

... so, reboot and retry, Hmmm.

Pairing Problem

I just went through this exact same problem, 06 TL.. It turned out to be a Hands Free Link problem. The dealer replaced the HFL module - problem fixed.
