So i just got done connecting my new isimple ISHD571. When i powered on the car, it went through the initialization of the isimple. i then put in the nav code and the radio code. the radio works fine but the ipod does not show up under xm mode. it does charge when connected. i have tried xm mode 1 and 2 (ipod connected to aux 1 port. (i also ran a usb cable for easy updates if needed. not sure if this might cause the device to not play or not. Any idea why the nav is not picking up the isimple?

 

make sure your dip switches are in the off position. The USB cable shouldnt be an issue since there's no signal from the usb port anyway unless you have a computer connected to it.

so when you switch to XM mode, turning the tuning knob doesnt change the "category" to iPod, Aux 1, Aux 2? I've read you need to turn the TUNE knob within 5 seconds of switching to XM mode.

And I'd also verify you're running the latest firmware on the isimple. The latest firmware revision is 788b. Mine came with 778 installed.

 

sweeeet thanks i got it working. i was not turning the tune knob fast enought. Sounds great!!! 800 times better than that crappy fm transmitter i was using.

i just installed the same unit 2 days ago. So far i love it!!!! Sound quality is awesome!

 

did you guys install in the trunk or in the HU? seems like the threads are old now and i am trying to see if the trunk option works?

 

mine is in the glovebox for easy access for aux connection and firmware updates
