Please confirm.. HVAC Software Bug?

I've noticed the following.. when switching from defrost back to "auto", my car turns "dual" on, the passenger temp is always one degree higher than the driver side

So here is the sequence that I have done multiples times to reproduce this:

- Turn the front defroster on [note that I generally lower the fan speed because it's kind of loud]
- Turn the car off
- When you get back in the car, start it & set the HVAC to auto

The Dual button should light up, and you'll see a difference in driver/pass temp.

If someone wants to try this when they run to the store or to get gas or something that would be great! I told my service guy at the dealer and i'm 100% positive he now believes i'm a complete nut case.. i'm not worried about the issue, I just think it's interesting/odd.

Turning the defroster off returns the climate control to whatever settings you had it in previously, which in this case was with dual control/1* difference.

Try this: turn off the dual controls, hit "Auto," turn on and then turn off "Defrost."

Does your climate control return to Auto mode without dual controls or to Auto mode with dual controls and 1*F difference?
If the former, the TL is fine and you're now confirmed as being nuts.
If the latter, then the TL's CC is nuts and you may be nuts as well.

errrr

Typical setting: 73 degrees, auto, no dual mode
I turn on defrost, sometimes drop the fan speed a few notches
When i'm done, I hit auto again, and thats when it's got the 1 degree difference, even though i never changed the temp or changed modes, just from auto to defrost to auto

OK, I tried this out this a.m.-- when the defrost is switched off, my climate control does return to its previous mode and settings, whatever the prior setting (Auto; Auto w/A/C off; Auto dual control w/diff. temps; Auto-A/C off, dual control w/diff. temps).

Try activating and deactivating the dual controls, then repeat to see if your CC will go back to the prior setting.

Did you turn the car off then turn it back on? That's what seems to trigger it

Here is the process for me..

1) Set CC to AUTO, *NOT* dual temp/mode
2) Set CC to Defrost
3) Go get gas/whatever/turn the car off
4) Start the car, push the AUTO button, upon doing this AUTO is enabled, along with DUAL mode, and the pass temp is 1 degree different..

I don't do anything at all to the passenger temp/controls so there's no reason for dual to enable itself..

I tried it with a shutdown and warm start- CC still returns to previous settings once the defroster is turned off.

Try using your other remote to open the driver's door, try the CC controls and see if that changes anything.
Otherwise, and barring user error , I haven't a clue as to what the problem might be.
