People with JL Audio CleanSweep CL441

Im looking to get this for add an amp and sub package to my TL and will later on power the door and rear deck speakers.

Question, does this hinder and of the regular functions of the stock headunit?

I was reading some guy installed it and said he had to use the supplied volume knob for it to control the volume. Is this true? thanks!

Only thing you will lose is 5.1 playback on DVD-A since the Cleansweep is only 4 channels in and out.

You don't "have" to use the volume knob. You only have to use it to access the aux input on the Cleansweep. The TL system does not change the eq curve based on volume so you can use your stock volume control if you like.

Ok. That's fine, i was planning on leaving the center channel on the factory amp anyway, the rest through the clean sweep then to the amp.

By leaving the center channel connected to factory amp, will you be cutting into the factory harness?

no. The SSI is only used to get a full range signal into the 441dsp. The TL stock system has full range f&r outputs so the SSI is not needed.

Unless I am completely brain farting and I am forgetting if the speakers are high-passed from when I hooked the outputs up to an RTA.
