Palm Treo 680 -- does it work?

Hi guys,

I just ordered a Treo 680. Has anyone used it with our car? How well does it work with HFL? My fingers are crossed.

Thanks!

Rob

Well, the 680 just came out, but the OS is the same as the 650 so it should work I guess... we'll see. Does the 700p show battery and signal strength?

680 Unlocked works in a 2006 TL. Had to uninstall the 650 first. Its a little less stable (drops bluetooth on the first part of the first call), but very usable in general...

Yup, I received the 680 and it is working perfectly. Didn't notice the first call drop thing yet... I have signal strength and battery strength back as well. Not sure if caller ID is working... it says "RM" in the display, not sure why. I'm not roaming, I'm on my home network.

Unhappy 04 TL does not find treo 680

Hi,

I have a Treo 680 (unlocked) and while it paired up error free with my 04 TL, and I'm able to use it after that initial pairing...

...my TL does *not* find the 680 after I turn off the car and turn it back on. very annoying. for a couple of trips I've gone thru the hassle of "re-pairing" it so it'll work for that specific trip, but I'd really appreciate any advice on why the TL is not pairing up with my 680 automatically when I have my phone and turn the car on.

I've already confirmed the 680's is "visible" in its bluetooth settings.

Thanks!

Did you have a Treo 650 before this one? Have you deleted all phones from HFL before pairing this one? Try that... my 680 is working fine. Someone with a 650 said you had to remove it before setting up the 680.

Hi,
I didn't have a treo 650 (the 680 is my first treo), but I'll delete all paired phones and try again. hopefully that will fix it. thanks for the tip.

well, i deleted all paired phones, but now i can't pair te 680! ughhh.

i've tried 10 times and the connection betwen the HFL and Treo 680 is lost EVERY time after I name the device, but before the TL repeats the name back to me for confirmation.

It works, but not the way it should. I can receive calls flawlessly and never loose HFL during a call. But...HFL drops between dialing and the first ring most of the time. I can hang on an "Transfer" irt back, or cancel the dropped call right away and it generally works on redialing the one it just dropped.

Thanks for the info . I agree about it being to expensive to not work with our cars. It also would have cost me more a month to add the internet. Guess I'll keep what I've got.
