Is this the only harness I need?

I am finally making the jump to an after market HU & having a custom dash piece made. I am going to be installing a pioneer AVH-P4100DVD that I had in my previous vehicle. Is this the only adapter harness that I would need to get the audio signals out to the speakers?

Also, btw I plan on bypassing the factory amp & using the one inside the HU.

Nobody has likely ever tried what you are doing.

If that harness is as advertised, then it will hook an aftermarket HU into the stock amp and system. Better call Crutchfield and ask them.

To bypass the factory amp, you will need to wire. The factory amp should have more power than the HU to drive all 6 channels.

I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of people on this forum that have installed after market head units in their 3G TL's....

Please look at the thread...

Also, I am not going to use the factory amp or the HU amp but I plan on using the existing wires to get the low signal wires out to my Alpine amp which the will then run to the new speakers that I swapped out the factory ones with. Which is what this harness will allow me to do.

All of them that I know of use the HU pre-amp outs to go their aftermarket amps with RCA cables. Do this.

Ok I understand that & that was another option I was considering. But did they use an adapter harness like this to get things like power, acc, ill., etc, to the after market HU?

This is what I was planning on using it for. Or did they do something else to accomplish this?

Btw, thanks for the help!

Thanks "ridin" this was very helpful. Apparently this task seems to be a puzzling one for local installers where I live....
