Odd MID/HFL with Bluetooth behavior

I know that MID/HFL lockup issues have been discussed a fair amount and
this might belong in the bluetooth forum, but mine just
acts flakey sometimes and I am curious if others have seen this.

I have not had the case where I have had to disconnect the battery.
It has locked up on me, but always fixes itself when shut off and
then turned back on.

Using the same Bluetooth phone (either V600 or T637) - they
always link immediately, except once in a while:

I experience one or more of the following:

Temperature sensor does not show a reading, MID otherwise OK
HFL locks up showing "Phone", can not get out with a shutoff
No Phone found, but not locked up (no bluetooth link)

Seems to happen when:

I either place a call before starting the car and near/in the
car. I hangup/finish right before starting the car -or-
I mess with phone settings or lookup something right
before starting the car. When I put the phone down
and it's not in a call, I start the car, and sometimes have
the problems above.

Seems like the HFL and MID get confused by the state
of the phone. I leave Bluetooth on all the time so the
car should always find the phone immediately.

Anybody seen this, is it a know bug? Happens with
both phones so it seems like it's an HFL issue.

Never read about this issue before, so I think it's something specific to your vehicle. Some of the known issues are:

1. Lock up / battery disconnect / reboot.

2. Incoming text messages 'tell' the TL to mute the radio and put up the Phone menu on the HFL.

3. All button presses when using the WAP internet microbrowser causes a 'beeptone' on the HFL and the HFL display to show various states of the HFL's menu's. No "pardons" have been experienced. Yet.

I'll take a guess that you did something in the pairing process to confuse the TL. Did you have both BT phones in the car at the same time when these issues occurred?

The only time I had a problem was using the "Transfer" command from the car to the phone. When I finished my call the BT and stereo wouldn't work. The MID showed the phone connected, but I couldn't hang up using the phone or the car. After about 10min of driving (frustrated I may say), I said the transfer command again and all was OK.

I was only ever using one phone at a time - I have two that I sometimes
switch between.

The temperate sensor being out is annoying and I was wondering
if I should tell the dealer that the sensor should be replaced.
It doesn't read at all and shows --.- or something like that
and the next time I start the car it's fine. So I really doubt it's
the sensor.

The common thing is I have always been using the phone or had
the V600 open right before I get in the car. It's baffling for
sure. I'm going to try and see if I can force this to happen today
and will report back.

Make a call to my V/M, hang up and immediately get in the car and
startup and see what happens.
