Numbers, #, and delays in phone dialing

Does anyone know of a way to include numbers, the pound sign #, and delays in phone dialing through HFM in order to dial and enter a voice menu automatically? If it's in the manual I missed it (other than speaking the numbers).

Are you asking about the TL's phonebook feature?

Hit the "HFL button" and use the voice command "phonebook store." You will be able to add a delay between dials via the voice command "pause" and the pound by "pound."

You can store up to 50 names and numbers.

A few more details here: Can you enter a pin with the HFL after connecting to a number?

I found it with a keyword search for pound.

Thanks to you guys, this is now added to the 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ.

Just note that "pause" may not work for you as it depends on your particular phone. It works on my LG phone.

If HFL can't handle all your inputs

With my business voicemail system, the number of pounds, pauses, and numbers to enter my extension number and PIN after the voicemail phone number were too many for HFL to handle ("Pardon").

What worked for me was storing the voicemail phone number as one entry, then storing the extension and PIN in another with the required Pounds. After voicemail answers, I call out "Send" plus the name of the second entry and it grabs my voicemail. Theoretically you could create a phonebook entry for each major command in your voicemail system and Send each one as you go along.

If you have tried to use the "pause" to insert a delay into your dialing string, I found that it taks a lot of them to reach the amount of delay that my voicemail system requires. It wasn't until I tried programming my voicemail number into the HFL in my garage (where it was quiet) that I realized that the 4 pauses (1 second each) weren't nearly enough. I could hear the rest of my number string being transmitted too soon. I ended up putting about 12 pauses into my dial string to allow enough delay for the phone call to connect and my office voicemail system to be ready for the "#" key. Fortunately it is easy to enter a lot of charracters. The HFL allows you to append to existing number sequences by mearly speaking them and stopping when you have enough. I found that I could only get the system to recognize about 5 or 6 pauses in a row so it took a number of appends to add all of the digits I needed.

This process is easier for me than the method some mention using "send" to trigger additional charracters.
