Non navi to navi conversion... help?

Non navi to navi conversion... help?

I own a 2005 tl non navi , I have a 2006 radio and screen I will be picking up DVD player for trunk along with gps antenna and sub display and the harness , should everything be plug and play or will I need to mod something and how does the player get power??? I'm a little confused and have been searching for a step by step with pictures and have had very little luck , I am in Houston tx anyone around that has done this and is willing to help a guy out just for the hell of it? Anyone please help!!!

Yea but that's a custom harness I'm getting a factory oem harness

These threads always amaze me. You are spending a lot of time, effort and money to install what is a decade old navigation system.

If you didn't own a portable nav unit would you buy a Garmin unit from 2006?

Why not just replace it with an aftermarket unit that is significantly more current? There are tons of double din how-tos around.

Bc me personally I don't like how the aftermarket ones end up the tl is a hard vehicle to get looking decent bc of the way the whole dash is setup, the factory one looks clean and fits right in smoothly

And works like ass. But whatever.

And honestly, it isn't that tough to make it look good.
